My name is Dr. Mercedes Palmisano and I’m a Board Certified OB/GYN.
I was born and raised in Centerville, Ohio by a wonderfully loving and supportive family. My parents
built a strong foundation that not only evoked my interest in medicine by providing opportunity but
bolstered my commitment to arduous tasks and confidence in myself throughout the journey.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton with a major in Pre-Medicine and
minors in Women & Gender Studies and Psychology. I chose to continue my education close to home at
Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine where I received an excellent education and the
opportunity to network with physicians in the community that I was raised.
After I received my Medical Doctorate, I married my high school sweetheart, Michael, in 2011 in our
favorite vacation destination, Sarasota, Florida. My husband has been by my side through all the trials
and triumphs of an equally fulfilling and demanding career while pursuing a career of his own.
I was happy to stay with Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine to complete my
residency training in OB/GYN with mentors I had admired as a medical student. After completing
residency, I joined a practice of esteemed colleagues. I will forever cherish the four years I practiced
with those providers. My partners helped me navigate the early years in private practice further
reinforcing my medical knowledge, but more importantly, teaching me the art of patient care.
Over the course of my medical education and career I was blessed with two beautiful children who
motivate me daily to be a better mother and physician. My family, including our two chocolate Labrador
retrievers, continue to live in Centerville where we are close to extended family and childhood friends. I
take great pride in both my family and my career.
The beginning of my medical journey fulfilled my desire to treat women while striving to provide a safe
and supportive medical home to optimize their health to maximize their quality of life. As I progress in
my career, I realize there is more to health than treating every problem with a pill. I am excited to
continue my journey with women’s health but also to expand my journey where I can help both men
and women, and get to the root cause of their problems.
Expanding my scope of practice to include treatment options for men for hormone optimization and
sexual dysfunction is an exciting opportunity that also benefits my female patients, as couples may seek
treatment at the same practice. Unique patients deserve a personalized approach to their health care
that parallels their needs and wants. I am excited to be helping patients live their best life with Amy
Brenner, MD & Associates.
