What is traditional Microneedling?
Traditional microneedling uses a hand held device that creates tiny holes or channels in the superficial layers (dermis) of the skin, stimulating the body’s production of collagen and elastin. The channels are filled with nutrients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin C or even PRP. The end result is reduced appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scarring.
What is Radio Frequency?
Radio frequency, or RF for short, is a type of energy that has been scientifically proven to increase collagen and elastin. This energy is safe and effective for cosmetic improvements that include scar reduction and skin tightening.
What is Morpheus8 / RF Microneedling?
The Morpheus8 is a state of the art treatment that combines the microneedling with radio frequency. The RF energy delivers the thermal energy to the deeper layers of tissue via the adjustable microneedles. Therefore, both the epidermis (outer layer ) and the dermis (inner layer ) of the skin are treated for maximum results.
What are the benefits of Morpheus8 RF Microneedling over other RF Microneedling devices?
Morpheus8 is more advanced than earlier versions of RF micrnoneedling (Fractora, Profound, Scarlet, Infini etc). Morpheus8 delivers the RF energy deeper (ranges from 1mm to 5 mm deep). The deeper you go, the more collagen formulation you can stimulate.
This device allows your aesthetic specialist to to vary the depth of the treatment based on the area of the body that is being treated and the desired result.
Little to no thermal damage to the dermis, unlike other radio frequency-assisted microneedling devices. The engineering of the RF needles (spacing of the needles, design and ergonomics of the hand piece and needles) make Morpheus8 a comfortable procedure with minimal to no downtime compared to other RF microneedling devices of prior generations.
How quickly will I see results?
Visible results can be seen after a few days, continual improvements occur up to 3 months after treatment.
What are the risks of Morpheus8?
The risks of RF microneedling (Morpheus8) are rare. However, during the consultation process, our aesthetic specialists will review the remote possible complications of Morpheus8 including: bleeding, infection, bruising, uneven swelling or discoloration, allergic reaction to the anesthesia, and skin burns.
How is Morpheus8 different than a Microneedling Treatment?
Microneedling is the treatment that uses tiny needles to penetrate the skin, creating very small channels that nutrients or platelet rich plasma can be delivered to. Also, when the body heals these microscopic channels, it makes new collagen and elastin. Microneedling with RF is the next latest and greatest generation of microneedling. RF adds radio frequency-generated heat to the skin, which allows the treatment to tighten the skin and contour undesired fat.
The Morpheus8 treatment is FDA approved as a Subdermal Adipose Remodeling Device (SARD). Morpheus8 can sculpt and even destroy the fat under the skin. Morpheus8 can also improve the texture of the skin, providing smoothing, tightening, and improvement of scars and dilated pores.
During a Morpheus8 treatment, your provider at Amy Brenner MD and Associates can adjust the RF microneedles to a depth of up to 4 millimeters, deeper than any other microneedling device to on the market. The addition of the RF energy allows the full depth of treatment to extend to 5 mm.
Is Microneedling with RF (Morpheus8) painful?
At Amy Brenner MD & Associates, we go above and beyond to ensure your comfort during all of our aesthetic procedures. Most MediSpa only use topical numbing cream during their offered procedures.

The gas is completely out of your system after 10 minutes so you can safely drive and resume your normal activities after ProNox® use.
Most patients only feel a warming sensation from the RF and the feeling of the microneedles will be significantly reduced.

It is possible that some patients may experience temporary bruising. The microneedling aspect of treatment may leave tiny points on the skin that crust and flake off. In addition, occasionally a patient may report mild tenderness in the treated area.
