Step 1.
The Consultation
Consultations are performed by our physicians and licensed nurse practitioners. At this visit, the medical provider will choose the treatment best for you. The treatment then will be scheduled for your next visit.
Step 2.
Prepare the PRP
If PRP is the best option for you, your blood will be drawn. Using a centrifuge, the blood will be spun to isolate platelets (also known as platelet rich plasma, or PRP). This portion takes approximately 15 minutes in the office.
Step 3.
Microneedle Into the Scalp
The PRP or growth factor is then placed on the scalp and driven into small channels created by a microneedling device. Nitrous Oxide is available for pain tolerance during the entirety of the procedure. This portion take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.
Step 4.
Recovery
It is common to feel soreness and flaking on the scalp, usually resolved within a week. We ask you avoid water for 8 hours post treatment and avoid shampoo or serums for 24-48 hours. We recommend taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen, post treatment to help manage discomfort.
