Replace Lost Collagen
The causes of diminishing facial volume:
Collagen is a protein in your body that plays a vital role in the firmness and elasticity of your skin. As we age, collagen production starts to decrease. As a result, you may see fine lines, wrinkles, loose and deflated skin and lips.
A prime example, the cheeks will start to flatten over time and the skin may look saggy. This is what we call age-related volume loss in the midface. Dermal fillers in Cincinnati OH are a great way to add volume to different areas of the face without surgery.

How do Dermal Fillers work?
The Allergan line of fillers is made from hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume. Different formulations of the HA filler are used based on the area being treated and desired results.
Allergen’s Juvéderm® collection adds volume to a different area of the face to lift cheeks, smooth lines, or plump lips. The results are subtle and long-lasting.

Dermal Fillers
Step 1.
Consultation
During your consultation, our providers will thoroughly explain the benefit of dermal fillers in Cincinnati and customize a treatment plan to encompass both your immediate and long term facial aesthetic goals.
Step 2.
Prepare the Skin for Injection
After your consultation, topical anesthetic may be offered to enhance your comfort during the injections. Then your injector will prepare your skin for injection by thoroughly cleaning the treatment areas with both alcohol and an anti-bacterial wash.
Step 3.

After the skin is prepared, the provider will inject the your dermal filler into the predetermined areas.
Step 4.
Results
Our providers will help you decide which filler will best suit your needs. Fillers normally last 6-18 months, depending on the individual. A long term treatment plan will allow us to optimize the life of your filler by re-injecting before the product has totally dissipated over time.
Softens Nasolabial Folds.
Juvéderm® Vollure™ is a dermal filler that softens mild to moderate nasolabial folds, also known as “parentheses lines” around the nose and mouth. Juvéderm® Vollure™ starts reducing the appearance of laugh lines almost immediately, and can last for up to 18 months. Juvéderm® Vollure™ can also be injected into the lips to provide a smooth, natural-looking, more subtle result for patients who desire fuller lips. Vollure™ can also be used to treat volume loss in the tear troughs around the eyes. (“off-label”)
Return to Juvéderm® Vollure™ ^Cheek Filler
Juvéderm® Voluma® is FDA-approved to correct age-related volume loss in the mid face, or cheek area. Unfortunately, as we all age we naturally lose volume in our cheek area, which creates the appearance of flattening cheeks, sagging skin, more pronounced wrinkles and folds around the mouth, and sagging skin around the jaw. Volume is designed to add volume beneath the skin surface, which provide lift and contour to the cheek area. Results last for up to 2 years.

Volbella® is a dermal filler specifically designed for lip augmentation, and the smoothing of wrinkles around the lips – also known as “lipstick lines”. Return to Disclaimer ^Frequently Asked Questions.
Will there be swelling after the treatment?
After your treatment, you might have bruising or swelling in the area. This will normally last less than 7 days. Cold compresses may be used immediately after treatment to reduce swelling. You may apply a cold compress to the area for 20 minutes per hour, and you may do this hourly for up to 3 days.
Is there anything I can do to decrease the swelling?
Dermal fillers are only injected by physicians in our practice. Cannulas rather than needles are used to introduce the fillers into the skin. This technique significantly reduces swelling and bruising. Other tips that can decrease swelling and bruising post filler include: avoid taking products that contain Ibuprofen (or non-steriodial anti-inflammatories), alcohol and exercise for up 72 hours or until and any bruising or swelling disappear. Arnica is another supplement that may help with swelling and bruising. This supplement is available in our office.
Can I feel the filler under my skin?
You may be able to feel the facial filler underneath the surface of the skin for several weeks following your treatment. This sensation is normal and with hyaluronic acid fillers, water will be drawn into it and should feel similar to your own skin within 2 to 3 weeks.
What if I regularly get cold sores?
If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another recurrence. Speak to one of our providers about medications that may minimize recurrence.
How old do you have to be to get dermal fillers?
Women of all ages come to our practice for dermal fillers. Women in their twenties often desire more lip fullness. Women in their 70's often desire a "My Liquid Lyft" which is our version of a liquid facelift without the downtime of a traditional facelift.
How many syringes of filler do I need?
We will develop a customized plan to meet each patient's needs. In general, in a filler naïve patient, in order to obtain full correction, one syringe of filler per decade of life is recommended. After the initial treatment to correction, most patients maintain their results with 1-2 syringes every 6- 12 months.
Is there downtime?
After treatment there is essentially no downtime! There is no surgery and no recovery time. Injection sites may be red for a few minutes and small bruises occur rarely. Occasionally, there may be some swelling.
Does it hurt?
Patients report injection discomfort of 1-2 on the 1-10 pain scale. It feels like a quick pinch. The needles used are very small, 3/8 of an inch (the same size as an insulin needle). We also use cannulas for most injections which is an advanced technique to reduce discomfort with the needle.
Will my face look "fake and overfilled"?
Our goal is to achieve a natural look with our patients.
How much does it cost?
In our practice, we individually customize the dose. Cost is dependent on which area and how many areas you would like treated, as well as the number of syringes of dermal filler necessary to achieve desired results.
Why choose us?
Our practice has been deemed the Award from Allergan ( the maker's of Juvaderm, Voluma, Volbella and Vollure ) as a Platinum Plus Practice. Dr. Brenner has also served as a member of Allergan's Physician Advisory Board. Invitations to this board are only distributed to the top practices in the country.
